Summary

“Real change is going to take time.”

Carolyn Su — the creator of @diversewerun — returns to the Ali on the Run Show today for the What’s New With You series. Carolyn first appeared on Episode 140 of the show, to talk about her own running story and to share why she created Diverse We Run. Today, she’s back with updates on how the account is grown, and on how she’s used her own voice over the past year. Carolyn is doing important work to help further the conversation about race within the running community, and she has deservedly been featured in Runner’s World and on several other running podcasts.

1:24.0

talking about it into a microphone for people other than my close friends or family members to

here. And I was uncomfortable then and even though I tried to be all, yeah, I'm practicing. I'm

1:34.6

getting so much better at talking about race. I know that for many of us, myself included, it is

1:40.7

still pretty new. So I'm encouraging all of you, just like I'm encouraging myself every day,

1:46.4

to keep at it, stick with it, keep practicing, keep having these conversations. I'm sure I said

1:52.6

40 not quite right things. The first time I talked to Carolyn and probably 25 still not perfect

things here. But I promise to keep these conversations coming. I promise to keep trying, to keep
