Summary

Natasha Crain joins the podcast to discuss her new book, "When Culture Hates You: Persevering for the Common Good as Christians in a Hostile Public Square." In this episode, we discuss the radical shift in culture since 2020 and how many Christians are now divided on how to engage with culture and politics. We cover topics such as social justice narratives, Christian nationalism, the biblical principles surrounding government, and moral issues such as abortion and gender ideology. Natasha also gives the church some fantastic advice on how to engage these difficult topics in an increasingly hostile public square. ------------------------------------------------------------------This video is sponsored by:SEVEN WEEKS COFFEETaste the Coffee that is Saving Lives.Go to www.sevenweekscoffee.com for more information.Use my code: ALISAGOOD RANCHERSGood Meat DeliveredGo to www.goodranchers.com/alisa for more information.Use my code: ALISA--------------------------------------------------------------------To Purchase the new CD, “Beauty from the Ash”, go to www.alisachilders.com/musicThere you can get the CD, backing tracks, string charts, rhythm charts and stems.Support us on Patreon: www.patreon.com/alisachildersTo order “Another Gospel”: www.alisachilders.com/another-gospel/To order “Live Your Truth": www.alisachilders.com/live-your-truth-and-other-lies/To order “The Deconstruction of Christianity”: https://alisachilders.com/the-deconstruction-of-christianity/For Alisa's Merch: https://alisachilders.creator-spring.comTo see what gear Alisa uses to record her podcast, go to:https://kit.co/alisachildersPotential Sponsors: https://alisachilders.com/sponsor-request-form/Product links are affiliate links which means if you buy something we'll receive a small commission.

It's not just that culture and some Christians hate when Christians get involved in politics.

0:06.9

It's very specifically that they hate when Christians apply their faith to conservative politics.

That's right.

It's absolutely a double standard.

Well, hey, everyone. Welcome to the Elisa Childers podcast. As always, it's our goal here to equip Christians to identify the core beliefs of historic Christianity, discern its

0:33.3

counterfeits, and proclaim the gospel with clarity, kindness, and truth. And if you haven't noticed,

0:38.7

it's been a little bit more difficult here in the United States over the past, say, five years or so

0:44.1

to live as a real Christian in a culture that's becoming increasingly more hostile, not just to

0:50.3

the Christian faith as a whole, but to historic Christian beliefs as it would relate to

0:55.9

the gospel and who God is and what humans are and human sexuality and all these types of things.

1:01.0

And I've talked on the podcast in the past about how we're kind of in this new era.

1:06.2

And this is coming from an author named Aaron Wren who talked about how we are now in what's called the

1:11.3

negative world. So there was a time when culture was pretty happy about Christian values and shared

1:17.0

a lot of Christian values. And then we moved into a time where they were kind of neutral. And this is

1:20.9

when you could sort of put forth the position of Christian belief on certain topics. And people

1:27.2

might be open to listening.

1:28.5

And then we came to a point where we're now in what's called the negative world where culture

1:32.6

is actually hating you, not just because of what you believe, but because they actually

1:38.3

think that what you believe makes you an unsafe, toxic, and unhealthy person.

1:43.1

And our discussion today is really going to help you

1:46.2

to understand why we are where we are and what we as Christians can do living in this negative

world, living in this world that is not receptive to the gospel. So my friend Natasha Crane,
