0:28.2	Well, hey, everyone. Welcome to the Elisa Childers podcast. As always, it's our goal here to equip Christians to identify the core beliefs of historic Christianity, discern its
0:33.3	counterfeits, and proclaim the gospel with clarity, kindness, and truth. And if you haven't noticed,
0:38.7	it's been a little bit more difficult here in the United States over the past, say, five years or so
0:44.1	to live as a real Christian in a culture that's becoming increasingly more hostile, not just to
0:50.3	the Christian faith as a whole, but to historic Christian beliefs as it would relate to
0:55.9	the gospel and who God is and what humans are and human sexuality and all these types of things.
1:01.0	And I've talked on the podcast in the past about how we're kind of in this new era.
1:06.2	And this is coming from an author named Aaron Wren who talked about how we are now in what's called the
1:11.3	negative world. So there was a time when culture was pretty happy about Christian values and shared
1:17.0	a lot of Christian values. And then we moved into a time where they were kind of neutral. And this is
1:20.9	when you could sort of put forth the position of Christian belief on certain topics. And people
1:27.2	might be open to listening.
1:28.5	And then we came to a point where we're now in what's called the negative world where culture
1:32.6	is actually hating you, not just because of what you believe, but because they actually
1:38.3	think that what you believe makes you an unsafe, toxic, and unhealthy person.
1:43.1	And our discussion today is really going to help you
1:46.2	to understand why we are where we are and what we as Christians can do living in this negative
