Welcome to another edition of Ten Gently Speaking.

This is a very, very special episode.

It's a conversation that I've wanted to share with you for a long time.

This is two friends of mine, Liam and Allison, who I hung out with a lot when I was living in Portland.

Cassie and I spent a lot of time with them and their two sons.

They sort of, how to say, they were very generous in welcoming us and showing us around.

They got us an apartment actually.

Just very, very generous people that we got to be very close with when we were living up there in Portland quite quickly.

They have an extraordinary story that I wanted to record in a podcast, but we really couldn't do it because it involved a lawsuit.

And until the lawsuit was settled, they weren't free to speak about it.

But the lawsuit is settled, everything's cool, and they were able to talk about it.

I'm actually glad that we waited this long because the story, well, there are other stories that got added to it, other experiences and layers to just how extraordinary these people are.

Anyway, I don't want to say much more about it. It involves life and death and facing mortality in various different ways and how this affects your relationships, how this affects your approach to life itself.

I think you'll really enjoy this. I've been looking forward to sharing this with you for a long time.

I don't know how I'm going to describe it in the episode description because I know a lot of people they don't download every episode.

So it's like if they recognize the name, it's some famous comedian or, you know, it's some they're interested in drugs.

And this one's about the guy who made all these LSD and then, oh, listen to that.

I don't know how to even describe this one. These are just a couple friends of mine who are amazing people.

If, you know, that's probably not going to lead lots of people to download. I got this beautifully made the other day because I had said on an episode a while back that, you know, I don't really understand why some episodes get downloaded significantly more than others.

And this guy wrote to me and he said, well, you know, I really have to be careful about which ones I download because, you know, I'm in this little village in Africa.
