Marshall here. Welcome back to the realignment.

Hope everyone is having a great start of September and transition into the long

Labor Day weekend. With that in mind, I thought I would share a recording I made with my good

friends, Will Jarvis and Larus DuCay. They host a podcast called Narratives. They were in Austin,

so we sat down and recorded a decently long episode going back and forth in a bunch of topics.

Their podcast is broadly interested in stories around progress. So not only can I recommend the Narratives

podcast, but I can also say I think you guys will get a kick out of this conversation.

That said, we'll be back on Friday with our normal programming and hope everyone has a great weekend.

Well Marshall, how are you doing this morning? I'm doing really well. It's cool to do this in person.

I've not done in person podcasting in just like months. I used to do this all the time.

But everything now for me is mostly just Zoom. So this is actually pretty exciting.

This is awesome. Yeah, it's really cool. Well, yeah, thank you so much for having us down here at Austin.

It's great to see you. And just catch up a little bit. Marshall, do you mind giving us a brief bio in some of the big ideas you're interested in?

Yeah, so brief bio. I am a podcaster. I host a couple of podcasts. I host one called The Realignment,

which is really about like American politics and trends and how the world is changing.

Other one is counterbalance. So it's like foreign policy, mostly focusing on like defense.

And finally, I do one for on deck called the deep band, which is the tech sector and how founders are operating.

Good deal. Good deal. I keep talking a little bit about, you know, how you first got into the realignment recording the podcast and the ideas behind the realignment.

What really interested you there? Yes. So two different answers to that question.

So number one would be I used to work at PBS. So I was working on a show called firing line, which was a reboot of Volume of Buckley's show.

And we launched it in 2018 with a new host Margaret Hoover at Herbert Hoover's great granddaughter.

And what was crazy about that experience for me is the whole idea was like, hey, we're creating this show debates.
