Hi everybody and welcome to a time to be still and be loved. This time is

dedicated to employing a part of your body that God designed for you, that is the break system. We all know how to

work and move and do, which is requires a part of our body system called the sympathetic nervous system,

all the hormones and chemicals to make that happen naturally happen when you have a desire and you do. But there's this

other side of our body that needs care and nurturing and that's a parasympathetic nervous system. It's the part of our body that was

meant to slow down, to be still so we can know. To know God, to know what he's saying, and honestly just

to be aware of what you are feeling and what you are thinking.

So we're going to do this a little different today.

Right now, we just want you to find yourself in a comfortable,

either seated position, or for some of you if you want to lay down you can do that as well.

This is a resting thing to do. We're not studying the word. You're trying to turn or pay attention because

it's impossible to turn your mind off, but pay attention to how you want to get busy and that's, oh, why can't I be still? Why is this so hard for me? Just notice you want to step back and observe yourself. I often get the

picture when I'm frantic, frenetic or crazy or moving at a higher pace and I feel the anxiety

or I can feel the unrest or the peace leaving me, which is the presence of the Holy Spirit,

because wherever the presence of the Holy Spirit is there's peace.

The presence of God brings peace.

It allows you to all parts of your body, your mind, your soul, and your

strength and your heart integrated in working in one accord. And when peace

leaves, I'm aware that Christ is inviting me to sit down.

And the two of us sit together at the side of a riverbank and watch the rivers of my life flow.

So I invite you to do that right now.

Just take a seat.
