Today we’ve got Power Couple Samir and Laura in the house to chat all about Psychiatry, Psychics, and Psychology in the latest episode of Food Heals.
Samir Srivastava is a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist who works for the National Health Service in London. He assesses and treats mentally disordered offenders at the oldest psychiatric hospital in Europe, the Bethlehem Royal Hospital. Additionally, he works and assists external agencies like the Courts and the police and acts as an expert witness in cases where mental health concerns are raised.
Samir is passionate about treating patients with serious medical conditions and guiding them and advising them on future life choices such as those with criminogenic backgrounds.
In addition to his work in psychiatry, Samir is a producer and works at a company called
Peoples Production Limited. PPl produces short films, autobiography documentaries and most recently an advert for a new medical application to help teach and assist junior medical surgeons.
He believes in producing films that have meaning and emotional depth that can connect with audiences and teach, entertain and uplift audiences.
Laura Powers is a celebrity psychic who has been featured by Buzzfeed, NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, Motherboard Magazine by Vice, and many other media outlets. She is a clairvoyant, psychic medium, writer, actress, model, producer, writer, singer and speaker who helps others receive guidance and communicate with loved ones.
Though Laura has always sensed the spiritual realm, it was not until adulthood that she opened up to her gifts and a life-crisis in which she was unemployed, going through a bad divorce, and physically ill. It was during the crisis that she shifted and opened up her focus to the spiritual realm and her life dramatically transformed from there. She started her company Healing Powers as a part of a personal healing journey with the goal of helping others find the resources and tools for self-healing.
Allison, Laura, and Samir met in Cannes at The French Riviera Fest where Allison and Samir had films and Laura was a judge. Their fascinating conversations in France led to an LA meetup at the Food heals Studio to talk about all the things!
So how can psychology, psychiatry, and psychics work together in this world? Find out in this episode of Food Heals.
