And our film review this week, our film review is Annihilation. Annihilation was released in 2018. It has 6.8 out of 10 on IMDB and 88% on

Rotten Tomatoes. Lina, a biologist and former soldier, joins a mission to uncover what happened to

her husband inside Area X, a sinister and mysterious phenomenon that is expanding

across the American coastline. Once inside, the expedition discovers a world of mutated landscapes and

creatures, as dangerous as it is beautiful, that threatens both their lives and their sanity.

This film really surprised me.

Like, honestly, it was just visually stunning

and really quite mind-bending.

Like, it's genuinely worth watching

just for the scenery and the flora and the fauna.

Like, it was such an inventive take

on an alien invasion story, right? And I, I didn't really

know what to expect from it. I didn't know that much about it. But then watching it, I was,

you know, generally quite intrigued by what was happening. And I thought it's, it's kind of

such a welcome, a welcome change to have to have like I'm calling it an alien invasion

story but it's not really because it's relatively passive like something happens on this piece of

land and then it starts to expand and it changes everything that's inside it and they they refer to it as a shimmer, as, you know, the shimmer.
