Summary

It's Jessica's birthday! In this episode she talks about aging, having a face, and the value of fear. In the horoscope corner, Lanyadoo does a little Uranus in Aries check in and offers you tools for this week's somewhat bumpy astrological ride.  Want to give Jessica a birthday present?  Here's her wish list: ✔︎Donate to RAICES, a nonprofit agency that promotes justice by providing free and low-cost legal services to underserved immigrant children, families, and refugees. ✔︎Donate to the ACLU, who play a leadership role in challenging efforts to undermine the Constitution and trample on people's constitutional rights. Download Tiny Spark to your iOS device (it's free!). 🔮For more weekly astrology, watch Lanyadoo get deep on TLC's new Facebook Watch series, Stargazing . Hello and welcome back to Ghost of a Podcast. This week is gonna be just a

0:21.4

little bit different. It's my birthday and I want to talk about it. As I look

0:27.0

down the barrel of 44 years old, I want to say a bunch of things. The first is

0:33.4

that it's nothing like I thought it would be. I didn't really have the

0:49.2

because I've known my whole life that I didn't want children and so my life

0:53.5

was really unscripted and also I've chosen a career path that doesn't have you

0:59.9

know any kind of common trajectory because it is not a common career path and so

1:04.8

there's not been like a sense of how this career of mine would go. It's really

1:09.8

got me to thinking about a lot of things. You know one of them is about

1:15.2

aging as a woman. In this increasingly visual world you know we have social

1:21.2

media and it's all pictures pictures pictures and I have an increasingly

1:26.6

outward facing career and as I grow old in public it really it has made

1:33.5

thinking a lot of things including about the facial deformity that I have and

1:39.4

that I was born with. I was born with something called Tosus of the eye which

1:45.4

means that one of my eyelids I couldn't really open and close it. I like walked

1:49.8

around for the first several years of my life with my head tipped back because

1:54.0

I was trying to see out of my eye. I call it my little eye because it is in fact
