Hello and welcome to another episode of the show. I'm Angus Wallace. We seem to have had a few

sejournes into the Pacific recently and during the research one

plane is constantly getting mentioned quietly in the background, the consolidated Catalina

flying boat. It's not something I knew much about. It doesn't get mentioned like other

planes that were produced in the thousands. Its distinctive look is pretty

iconic to me of the Pacific Theatre. Until I started to research I

ain't realized how much it was also utilized in the Atlantic. So today I'm joined

by Matt Dearden.

Matt is a commercial pilot based in the Pacific who owns a share in Miss Pickup,

a World War II era Catalina flying out of the UK.
