| 0:47.3 | And in this live stream, I got a question from someone who is an existing investor. |
| 0:51.3 | And he or she, I don't know which one it was, already had eight properties. So they kind of were a little further along. They weren't brand new. But the dilemma or the challenge that this person had was they asked, is there ever a point you get to where you're actually, you're not just working hard for just a little bit of return? They felt like they were spinning their wheels or they're kind of burning out because they're putting all this effort in and maybe they've been doing it for years and yet they're not feeling like they're getting a real financial return or maybe they're not seeing the things that they really got into it in the first place, the lifestyle benefits, the progress they wanted to make. They're not seeing it. They got all work and no fun. It sounds like. |
| 1:28.6 | And so it sounded a little bit burned out. And so I want to give you a response. I've been in the |
| 1:32.6 | middle of this myself, thought about it a lot. And so I'm going to give you my thoughts on that right now. |
| 1:38.5 | So I love this question because it sort of gets to that big picture strategies. Actually, when I wrote the book, The Retire Early with Real Estate, I was writing it for this kind of situation because I feel like there's lots of information out there. And I love sharing practical, how do you buy the property? How do you analyze it? How do you run the numbers? How do you manage it? But there's also like stepping back and looking at how are these eight units that I own, like moving me forward in my life so that I can do more of what matters. I noticed that wasn't as much talked about. And so I'm very interested in that. And I think a lot of you are too, because that's why you got in real estate in the first place. It was not just to own properties. As fun as that is, like who wants wants to just own properties and that's all you got? Like, you want these properties to help you have fun in life and help fund other things that you're doing. And so that's what I'm reading behind this question. And if this person was sitting right next to me, like, these are the kind of questions I would fire back at them. I would say, you know, number one, like, are the properties you bought actually good deals? |
| 2:37.2 | So you've got these properties, you've got eight units. It feels like you're not getting a good |
| 2:40.6 | return. Is it possible that you just bought properties that weren't good deals in the first place? |
| 2:45.5 | That wouldn't be the first time that's happened. I have done that myself. I have a couple |
| 2:49.4 | properties that I still own where I feel like I'm spinning my wheels. I'm doing work and I'm not getting any returns. And so if that's the |
| 2:55.9 | case, it might be time to think about like how to move forward. And this is actually, we were talking |
