Hello, I'm Sean Curran, and this is today in Parliament from BBC Radio 4.

For Tuesday, the 28th of January, when the government said there were no plans to widen the definition of extremism,

after parts of a Home Office report were leaked.

The Conservative said the definition shouldn't be watered down.

Combating Islamist terrorism is more important than policing the manosphere.

There should be no hierarchy of conflicts, but there is one.

But first, the Prime Minister has said the government is looking carefully at how it addresses extremism

after part of a Home Office report was leaked to policy exchange, a centre-right think tank.

The leaks suggested widening the definition of extremism to include

environmental extremism and misogyny. In the commons, the security minister, Dan Jarvis,

said the report did not and would not represent government policy. Many documents are produced

across government as part of commissioned work, which are not implemented and which do not constitute government policy.

This work did not recommend an expansion in the definition of extremism, and there are not, and have never been any plans to do so. He said Islamist extremism and there are not and have never been any plans to do so.

He said Islamist extremism followed by far right extremism were the biggest threats.

The Conservative Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp said the leaked review contained some

deeply concerning proposals.
