types of patents. Technically, there are three different types of patents. And right here, I'm on the

USPTO.gov website. You can see there's a utility patent, a design patent, and a plant

patent. A plant patent protects like the invention of a new species of plant. Or you like you'll see at

the grocery store, they'll come up with like new modified fruits and vegetables and, you know,

that sort of stuff. So you can actually protect that. So if you're a scientist who comes up with

your own types of plants, you can do a patent for your
