I am so excited this week to move talking about some of our favorite airborne friends, our little critters that flitter through the sky

at night. We have a brand new friend this week. This is Dr. Allison Brokaw. Say hi, Allison.

Hi. And Allison, what are your pronouns? She her. Thank you so much. I am really excited to talk

about our fun little guys. I try not to like only talk about

bats at Halloween time, because I feel like that's what everybody thinks about bats, but they're

always there. They don't spawn into existence in October and then just despawn after Halloween.

They're still there. I feel like October and Halloween is when I stock up

on like bat-themed merch and then you just have it like all year long. You know what I mean?

Oh, yeah. That's I sometimes my friends and I, like my bat colleagues and I would joke that

Halloween is like bat biologist Christmas because it's when you can get

all the cute bat stuff. The play is to get all the bat merch on clearance in November.

Yeah. You wait until November because that's when they put all of it on clearance.

Oh, yeah.

I mean, yeah.

I mean, honestly, now with, I don't know, capitalism, I feel like everything,

Halloween stuff's on sale like in October.
