I was out to lunch with coworkers and they were talking about one of them was talking

about how they were trying to raise their kids in a way where they don't have a lot of screen time.

It's kind of closer to nature.

Not in like a very dramatic way, but it is kind of something that they're trying to do.

And I guess in Germany there's like a word for it and I asked, we were all sitting around, it was like, I don't

five or six of us, and I was like, are you gonna let your kids have a rum springer when they get older.

And so my colleagues were like, what is that?

I said, well, you know, Amish people in the United States

when they reach a certain age,

you can kind of go out in the outside world and experience

what the outside world has to offer,

and then they can decide whether or not to return or to stay out.

And they said, really, oh, they hadn't heard about it.

And I was like, yeah, that's what happened to me, actually.

I decided to stay out in the world.

And again, they were like, oh, really? And I had to be, no, never mind I had to be oh no never mind I had to pull I had to reel it back

instantly I said like oh my god I could do I could just they're being very kind

in asking me about it and they don't know well, they don't know enough to realize how surprising that would be for me.
