Last episode was a bit busy.

We talked about the rapid growth of Wathlethalad's power, Edward militarizing Wathlethalad's

borders, then visiting her capital city and bringing his army with him.

We also talked about how she died shortly thereafter and Edward ordered his army to

occupy the city.

And then we talked about the signs of rebellion coming out of Northern Mercia and how Edward

eventually captured and disinherited his niece, Ailfwyn, second lady of Mercia.

And judging by your emails, you found that series of events just as suspect as I did.

But as I'm learning is the case with Edward, once you start digging into the story, more

skeletons seem to rise to the surface.

There's a lot more unexplained and unsavory events that seem to hide just under the ink
