Thank you for joining me today as we go way, way back into the writing of our man, Nick.

For this, wow, quite a spectacular episode, Dominic Dunn does begin his career for Vanity Fair writing about his daughter, Dominique,

and the trial of her murderer. That piece was called Justice, and it was published in March of

1984. Stunning piece, so much covered within our journey here on this podcast. Dominic is back in L.A.

for The Trial, of course. His return to the city that was once his after getting sober and putting

his life together from his crash and burn in the 1970s decade.

By the early 1980s, Dominic Dunn was living in New York City,

putting together his next life, his third act,

and maybe not even seeing it come from Vanity Fair.

Justice, in March of 84, that premiere essay, simply incredible stuff, but y'all.

His next piece for Vanity Fair, published in the following month, April, 1984, well, investigators,

it could not be more different.

Dunn's follow-up for the next month is a piece

called Blonde Ambition. And I think it is truly wonderful that although Dunn is back in Los Angeles

for the gruesome business of the trial, you know our man Nick is still interested in what he's interested in,

and that is Stars and Hollywood and the scene. You can take the boy out of Hollywood, but you cannot
