Hey everyone, apologies if there are any sound quality issues.

I'm recording this on my iPhone's voice memory function, had a last minute cancellation,

so I had to rearrange the schedule, and I decided to release an episode that was promised

a long time ago.

It's my dad, Dr. Mark Trexler, coming on the show to offer a rebuttal to Alex Epstein's

episode about fossil fuels that came out late May.

Got a bunch of what's to say negative feedback on the episode.

Folks asked for an alternative point of view.

My dad sent me a very long email critiquing my performance, so I thought I would just

have him come on the show himself and offer that perspective.

This is a long episode, especially because I know my dad is just easy to go longer.

We go into a bunch of topics from his critiques of Alex's point of view to also a broader

conversation about politics, political theory, how change works, what the actual problem,

given the climate change issue in our political system, why we haven't talked about in the

realignment, all those other good things.

This is exactly the type of episode I want to do as we expand the show and go into this

new season.
