celebrated the 100th birthday of the 270, so the cartridge deserves as much love as we can get it

this year, and, you know, it stands on its own merits as well,

even though it's been in use for more than 100 years. 30 out six, 120 years-ish. Yeah, it would be

And we're going to compare everything from kind of traditional early loads with lead tips and flat bases up to some cutting edge factory ammo

that you can get on the market today and talk about hand-loading them.

Compare, you know, which one are you going to get the best performance out of today?

Let's kick it off with a little bit of history.

William, you're a World War II buff and, well, World War I as well.

That cartridge served our country through both wars.

Some people say that cartridge won both those wars.

Why don't walk us through the development of that?

Why was it generated and what were some of the steps along the way?

Well, if memory serves during the Spanish-American War, we were using 30-40 Craigs and Craig Jorgensen rifles,

which are good rifles. They're solid, but they're using slow, heavy bullets and older propellants.

And they weren't... 220 grand round those. Yeah.ants and they weren't 20 grand round those yeah and they just

weren't um holding up to combat as well as and they weren't performing as well as the mousers that
