stories about odd medical conditions, such as locked in syndrome. Also, I'm always looking for

On average, three women are murdered every day by their husband or spouse.

According to the National Domestic Abuse Center,

one in four women are victims of abuse.

These statistics should be shocking. If you are in a relationship, are being abused,

My guest is Megan, who gives a story arc of her relationship beginning to end.

It starts with comments her boyfriend would make to her,

moves on to him alienating her from her friends and family,

and escalates to physical and sexual abuse.

Even though Megan stays pretty casual and upbeat during the story,

it's very terrifying. And as usual, with all my episodes, listener discretion is advised.

I'm Megan, and I wanted to tell a story of my past relationship with an ex that lasted three years and was abusive.

How long ago was this?

This was like two and a half years ago now.

We actually knew each other in high school, but we weren't really friends.

We were just acquaintances.
