So James, who are we joined by today and I'm very excited about this.

This feels like this is the daddy doesn't it because we've got Professor John Buckley

of who you and I are obviously acolytes.

And John is a professor of military history at Wolverhampton University, the first such

undergraduate course in the country I think I'm right in saying and he is someone who

has had an enormous impact and influence on my writing and my understanding of the Second

War War and indeed John as well I think.

Well and a university that had the good sense to give me an honorary doctor as well.

So today we're saying hello to John Buckley.

Now James, you go first because you're absolutely bursting with questions.

Well I have and you know John and I have sort of you know irregular conversations don't

we John where we sort of chew the cud and it's always incredibly useful.

So my issue at the moment that I'm my little sort of little conundrum, we're not conundrum

but my little sort of thing I'm trying to untangle is that it's very clear to me in the

early stages of the Normandy campaign.
