0:08.2	And we're specifically going to be talking about some of the things that we look back on
0:12.4	and think what the heck were we doing and why did we play it that way in that situation.
0:18.0	I think that going back and reflecting on mistakes is a helpful thing moving forward.
0:23.4	And when we first started elk hunting, we made a lot of mistakes and we really only had one way
0:28.0	of going about calling to elk.
0:29.8	We would just cruise through the timber and bugle a bunch, try to get a response.
0:34.4	And then once we did get a response, we would just keep bugling at them.
0:37.7	And that definitely can work and we're going to continue to do that in some situations.
0:41.3	But we've also learned that there's a lot of situations in which that doesn't work and
0:46.0	there's a variety of factors that go into what decisions we make when calling to elk.

0:53.2	Vortex wanted me to share a tip with you guys for how I choose optics
0:57.8	based off what we're hunting.
0:59.9	And I would say more than what we're hunting, I choose my optics based off what settings we're
1:04.9	going to be in. So I have a couple pairs of binoculars that I flip back and forth from.
1:09.2	I use a pair of diamond back 15 by 56 binos for when I want to glass a long way away.
1:16.0	So if I'm going to be an open country like elk hunting or maybe out in the plains hunting deer,
1:21.7	I'll bring those more powerful binos that will really reach out there.
1:25.7	I also in those situations will be carrying a spotting scope as well.
1:30.1	The spotter that I carry is the diamond back HD 16 to 48 by 65 angled spotter.
