0:54.6	exactly how this person asked it to me on Instagram and then try to hit the different angles.
0:58.9	They said have you looked into the claims about the Trinity not actually being in the Bible, an idea
1:06.0	that was created.
1:08.0	Well, to lay the framework for how to answer this question, one thing we do have to understand
1:11.9	is that there are many words that we use to describe biblical doctrines that aren't themselves found in the Bible.
1:18.0	The word Trinity is not found in the Bible. It's a word that theologians came up with to explain the whole
1:26.4	council of scripture from Genesis to revelation what it has to say about the nature of God. And so the word Trinity is the word that they came up with for that. But there are other words that we use that are like that. For example, the concept of biblical inerrancy.
1:42.8	There is not that phrase formulated like that in the Bible.
1:46.5	That is a doctrine that theologians came up with
1:49.7	to explain what scripture is.
1:52.4	There are other doctrinal names, things like. explain what
1:55.0	scripture is. There are other doctrinal names, things like penal substitutionary atonement.
