I'm Alex.

I'm Alex.

So I was an only child. I was very precocious and I was a political junkie

before I started kindergarten. Long before Alex Hewitt was a producer of

mortified show in DC in Baltimore.

She was a kid concerned with the fate of the world.

Instead of golden books and Dr. Seuss, I learned how to read from articles in the New York Times and Time magazine.

My father was active in local and national politics.

I hit the streets with my dad as we canvas for Jimmy Carter in the 70s.

I attended political cocktail parties and rallies with him

when most kids my age were home watching Sesame Street.

So passionate was Alex about current events

that she even began writing about them

in her very own newspaper.

My homemade family magazine, The 34 Ridge Road Times.

So my father was my only subscriber.

And I wrote this op-ed.

In response to his comment, he said the woman would never be president because she

wears high heels and carries a pocketbook. So the following is an op ed that I

wrote when I was 10 years old in October 1979 politics in a child's

view.
