We are with political royalty. The former speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, the most, I think in many ways, still the most powerful person in the Democratic Party.

My wife interviewed the other day and said you are, her book is the art of the power, best

seller number one I think.

And my wife said you are the most powerful woman in America, and her response was pretty soon,

I'm going to be the second most powerful woman.

So it's so great to have you here, Madam Speaker.

Let me start off.

You have been to a number of conventions and you do, and there's an incredible feeling of optimism,

excitement, energy here in Chicago.

But you also remember 2016, 1988, even your convention in San Francisco, where there

also was a great feeling of excitement and optimism.

Why do you think it's different this time?

Well, the two other conventions that you mentioned were when we nominated the first woman,

Vice President of the United States, Jilding for all, that was very exciting.

It was very exciting.

It was wondrous.

It was so different.

It was so different and so wonderful.

I'll never forget the floor shaking

with exuberance when she was nominated.

And then 2016, the nomination of Hillary Clinton,

and well whom I always thought in this era of our time the most qualified person
