You know, growing up 30 minutes outside of New York City, even that 30 minutes can feel like

worlds away. And the truth is we were not in the five boroughs of Manhattan. We did not grow up

in these circles. We were outsiders.

We didn't say you're. We admired and obsessed over hip hop from afar. And Rick Ross is one of those

people who we essentially grew up with. You know, this Miami rapper who lived a life so far from ours was still a part of our lives

because we were downloading his mixtapes.

I remember where we were when we got Nike Airs and Crisp Tees.

I remember where we were and SUNY Purchase, when we were driving around in circles, just

blasting hustling over and over, making our own music video for it, just trying to be a part of it

in our own little way.

Even moving into the city and making inroads as we have over the last 12 years,

Rick Ross, while we've been, you know, around him on red carpets or in different buildings,

still seems like this larger than life far away entity.

We had a song on our album called Jews for Jesus Peace remix where we had a whole verse dedicated to Ross and his

ad libs and his absence. Yeah, how much we wanted him on the song. We we sold a TV show to

MTV, a scripted show, and that whole pilot was based around our

burgeoning friendship with Rick Ross.

And over all these years, I think you get to a point where when you don't get that

verse and the TV show doesn't get made.
