Hello again, Mike Rowe here with episode number 264 of the way I heard it.

This one is called, Does Your Mom Really Vacuum in the Nude?

That's the title of the episode because that's the question I get now, two, three, four, sometimes five times a day, Chuck.

People see the title of my mom's new book and they want to know if there's any truth to it.

And how do you not ask that question? Because she's saying it right there on the front of the book,

which is now available where fine books are sold. And there's an illustration of her naked,

vacuuming in the nude, with my father

leering at her as he attempts to read a newspaper. So, yeah, it's a fair question. And we will

answer that question in today's conversation with, I guess it's official, America's grandmother, the title of a special coming up featuring my mother.

It's just unbelievable. She's out there at 84 years old, Chuck. She's killing it.

This is going to be number three, man. I'm pretty sure she's going to get a third New York Times bestseller under her belt.

I mean, if the pre-sales are any

indication. Well, I sure hope so. And obviously, my agenda is showing. Peggy Roe is my mom.

She's my favorite writer. First time, New York Times bestselling author at the age of 80.

She did it again two years ago at the height of the lockdown with another book. This is the

best book she's ever written. It made me cry three or four times. It made me laugh out loud

in those moments when I wasn't crying. It's actually a very clever memoir about a determined writer

who wrote every day for 60 years before ever getting a deal, a legit

book deal. And I'm very proud of my mom. I think a lot of people with dreams have a lot

that they can learn from this book. And if you like to laugh, I mean, it's a funny book, but we just had a fairly earnest conversation, I thought.

It was way more earnest than I thought it was going to be. I thought it was going to be all, you know, jokes and fun.

And it got very serious, and she teared up again.
