Coming up on today's show, we'll be discussing Harvard's plagiarist president,

the dangerous failures of the UK's asylum system,

and the slipperiness of Sechir stama.

So the embattled president of Harvard, Claudine Gay, finally resigned this week. People may have been following the story. She kind of came into the public eye around about a month ago with this disastrous congressional hearing on anti-Semitism on campuses.

She quite famously said she couldn't say whether calling for a genocide of the Jews was against Harvard rules.

Now since then, all these other allegations have been made against her,

some very serious allegations of plagiarism have come to the fore and finally she has admitted to have done it and she has she has

resigned now Tom on the surface that might sound like a very dry sort of

academic dispute but this is far bigger than that isn't it this you know

speaks to something a much bigger problem.

It's not.

It certainly feels that way.

I mean it was international news and that's part of 24 hours at least.

And I think that really speaks to the fact that this became a really key clash in the sort of transatlantic

culture war and I think in this particular instance obviously as you suggest the

that particular congressional hearing and those ridiculous statements that she
