At the age of 12, he ran away from home, after his family was evicted from their home in the

Amona settlement in the West Bank. It was then he was drawn to a life of right-wing nationalist

extremism. He joined the hilltop youth, an informal group of settlers responsible for incessant

attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank.

Soon enough, he found himself indicted for incitement,

his crime dancing with a picture of the murdered Duabshab baby as another hilltop youth stabbed the photo.

But this is all in his past.

Today, Dove is an activist for Palestinian equality, for feminism, and freedom of religion.

Dov Mourel is with us today, and the question we're asking, is this just another form of extremism, or is Dov a changed man?

Today, we're joined by Dov Mougel to talk about his life as a hilltop youth, his journey,

and the drastic change of perspective.

Is this kind of, you know, a lot of the times you hear about people who are kind of on one side of the extreme on the spectrum and then they kind of flip sides.

Do you feel like this is sort of just, I don't know, maybe trying to balance the scales or how do you, what do you feel made this change?
