Welcome to a very special episode of You Must Remember This.

With the year of 2014 coming to a close, we are launching a new tradition.

Today we're going to look back at a few memorable moments from the 25 podcast episodes that we release this year.

And given that this is a time of the year when many of us will be, as they say, popping bottles,

our theme for this reminiscence is tales of celebrity drunkenness.

So sit back, pour yourself a beverage, and prepare to be amazed by stories of booze-y-ness,

featuring Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Elizabeth Taylor, and many more stars of Hollywood's first century.

Our first tale of celebrity drunkenness takes us back to the mid-1960s.

We'll begin with a clip from episode number five, first released in May,

in which we explored the last years of Judy Garland's life and career,

and particularly the great performers strong bond with the gay community and the connection between her death and the revolutionary stonewall protests.

Early in this episode, we heard an excerpt from William Goldman's book The Season.

The excerpt was read for us by our frequent guest and collaborator, actor Noah Segan.
