We'll start with news today about cost-cutting measures by Mercedes-Benz and Porsche

because of difficulties in the Chinese market where those premium brands are really being

hit by decline in luxury spending,

linked to economic issues and also some of the domestic names that have kind of come from nowhere,

really, and selling electric vehicles are giving the German carmakers food for thought there

in China. Tesla's market share continues to decline in California. According to the California New Car Dealers Association, the third quarter report is just out.

And it shows Tesla's hold in the largest EV market in the US is faltering.

Tesla Model 3 now down to third place.

Model Y is still the best selling passenger car, but the market share is down now to 12% in California. Now, California

is almost 25% of the entire USEV market, so it's very important. A new report today on

fortune.com links the potential political dynamics of their CEO now openly out campaigning,

spending his free time at the weekends, doing rallies for the Republican Party.

I'm not sure I fully subscribe to that.

I've not seen any really robust data on that.

Just lots of people saying, well, it kind of feels icky to me, you know, that Democrats

writing, I'm getting rid of my Tesla now.

It's all anecdotal.

But I'll carry on looking for some hard data on that.
