Summary

A very special guest joins the podcast this week as Mary Kate Shea sits in with Des and Kara. Mary Kate (aka MK) is the Director of Professional Athletes and Technical Support for the Boston Athletic Association (aka the BAA) and personal friend of Des.

Seriously, the process behind fueling elites on-course in the major marathons is surprisingly fascinating. You will never watch a marathon in the same way again.

0:57.9	industry trade show type thing and everyone's there and it's just like a crazy end of the year
1:04.6	bash but it's also really busy. I don't go to that stuff. I just do the fun stuff and it's
1:10.6	group runs in the morning super early and then parties like till you know two in the morning.
1:17.0	So that was the last couple days for me and yesterday like so I've gone the last couple years
1:21.8	and there's always good bands because it's Austin. There's great live music. One day you go to
1:26.6	the spasmatics which is this like 80s cover band. They're like awesome. They're just like wild.

1:43.3	one year we were at that and we thought it'd be really funny to like crowdsurf like we were

1:59.0	waves are there and they were like get her down immediately. Like if she falls people are
2:04.0	losing their jobs. So now it's become more of like this you know it's a tradition at this point.
