Summary

In this short podcast, I discuss the upcoming 25 hour Step 1/COMLEX 1 review. The course is excellent prep for those taking the mentioned exams along with those taking Step 2/3 or COMLEX 2/3 with poor foundations. With the increasing basic science bent of the Step 2/3 exams, an increasing number of individuals even with … Continue reading 25hr Step 1/Level 1 Review (1/6-10, 2025, also useful for Step 2/3 Basic Sciences)

Welcome. This is Divine. This is just a quick blurb on the Step 1 class that's going to be coming up soon.

0:08.8

So the thing is, many of us know about step 1, right? It's an exam where your basic sciences are tested.

0:16.8

But the thing is, especially with this transition to pass fail, the USMLEs, they've definitely

0:22.5

undergone some changes over the last few months.

0:26.5

Basically, the exam still test basic science details, but they have changed their focus.

0:33.5

They have changed their focus.

0:34.8

First part of that change in focus is there's now a heavy focus on

0:39.8

integration of content across multiple disciplines. So they don't just focus on linear testing,

0:52.2

of information together to spit out an answer?

0:54.8

1:13.2

And you'll even notice that many medical schools have kind of figured this out.

1:14.3

They've been like, hmm, you know what?

1:18.8

How about we let our students take step one after their clinical years, right? Just to kind of help you prepare for that reality.

1:22.0

So with all these test modifications in mind, I have created a course that covers a large majority of the tested

1:29.3

basic science concepts in an integrated format. And it doesn't just cover it in an integrated

1:35.8

format, it emphasizes clinical scenarios as commonly encountered on the exam. And the thing is,

1:42.0

there are some principles that are like some critical reasoning principles

1:45.6

that are more attuned to step one as an exam.

1:48.5

This class covers that in great detail.
