Now some of my dear Lutheran folk so sees hold of the fact that not one of us can ever fulfill the law as the law demands to be kept,

that they actually think the law is given only to show you

that you are a sinner.

And that when it has done that, then it has nothing further to say to you.

The Word of the Lord Endures Forever is a daily verse-by-verse Bible study with the

church, past and present.

Pastor Whedon is leading us in a study of the book of Proverbs, chapters 1 through 10.

Greetings, people, love by God.

So, last time you know what I recall, we saw wisdom not staying in

some secret place, but wandering out into the streets, to the marketplace where all was hustle and

bustle. And there she began to lift up her voice, to cry out. She wasn't quiet. She spoke

loud enough to be heard. And her words began with a challenge. How long?

How long would the simple be content to be simple? How long will the scoffers delight in their

scoffing and despise real knowledge? The implication was, look, folks, the sands of time are running

out, and now is the time you'd better repent

and turn and listen to the wisdom of God. She promises them that if they do this, if they

hear and heed her, she will pour out her spirit upon them and make known to them her words. We saw how this is hugely fulfilled

in the inspiration of the scriptures by the Holy Spirit and how those words which the Spirit gave are
