ADHD experts broadcast. Today we'll be talking with Carl accounts Allen PhD

about behavioral parent training,

which is a well-established first-line treatment plan

for children.

It's one that's recommended by the American Academy

Pediatrics for preschoolers before medication with ADHD and alongside

simul medication for older children. Dr. Allen will describe what behavioral

parent training is, how it works, and what kinds of what behavior if and when it's

if and what kinds of changes parents can expect

in their children's behavior if and when it's effective.

She is Carla Counts Allen, PhD, a psychologist, and the director of the ADHD programs at Children's Mercy in Kansas City where she

oversees programs designed to improve the lives of children. She's involved in

graduate medical education. She's an active researcher. Dr. Allen's a

frequent presenter on treatment interventions for children with

ADHD on disruptive behavior and on anxiety. She serves on the ADHD clinical practice
