Hey everyone good afternoon. I'm Susan Clauphin. I'm here for Attitude

magazine's weekly ADHD experts broadcast. Today we'll be talking with

Dr. Teresa Reagan about adult autism.

Autism and Special Disorder is a condition that impacts people across childhood and through

their life lifespan, although it's commonly regarded as a pediatric disorder,

it in fact adults as sex adults as well.

Frequently sometimes misdiagnosed as ADHD or other conditions.

So growing awareness about autism has really led a number of people, including many people, diagnosed with ADHD, to wonder

whether they might be on the autism spectrum.

So we hear from many of our listeners at Attitude who are wondering about the autism spectrum

diagnosis. So today that's where regularly talking about autism and the

facts and the myths about autism and adults, why getting a correct diagnosis at any age is really important,

what the similarities and differences are between autism and spectrum disorder and ADHD and

other disorders that you might be interested in as well as some of the

diagnostic criterion treatments or autism. So I think it's a timely topic and

we're really pleased to have Theresa Reagan PhD here. She is a clinical

neuropsychologist

with a specialist in brain behavior relationships

such as autism spectrum disorder.

She's worked with adults within hospital systems

for over 30 years.
