0:00.0	David, I heard from our mutual friend Ari that someone wanted to come in and talk about Nazis, billionaires and the Middle East. And I was like, say less. Let's do it.
0:19.2	So it. All right. So let's start unpacking this a little bit. You wrote a book, I guess,
0:25.9	a couple years ago. Yeah, literally, two and a half years ago. Literally called Nazi billionaires.
0:29.8	Yes, that's literally what it's called. And from my understanding, you spent like four years
0:35.2	deep on this doing nothing but this research and i'm going to give the general
0:40.7	idea here but you're going to break you down like you basically traced modern money from major
0:46.3	companies international companies back to old third rike money how did how did you even like get
0:53.5	the idea to do this in the first place?

0:55.8	I was a reporter at Bloomberg News in New York and I was hired on this new team which
1:01.9	investigated family offices, family owned businesses, family, you know, non-stock exchange
1:10.4	listed companies,
1:11.8	which is a blind spot for Bloomberg,
1:14.1	because they really focus on companies that are listed
1:17.1	or that are publicly traded on the stock exchange.
1:21.6	And they soon, and I was hired as a North America reporter,
1:25.8	even though I'm Dutch, but soon my American bosses asked me oh do you want to can you cover the German-speaking
1:33.8	countries they assume me being Dutch that I spoke fluent German which I certainly
1:40.4	did not at that point which of course is a-old reporter, I didn't have the heart.
1:44.8	I didn't dare to tell them. I just say yes and I'm and, you know, and went for it.
