with another one today. We're going to be diving into the story of Ricky Casso also known as the

acid king and to cover his story we got to go back to the 1980s which was prime time for the satanic panic. Absolutely, yeah. The height. It was the height of it, yeah. And this time period in history is just, I don't know, it's pretty fascinating to me because, you know, I think to some extent there's still, the satanic panic still exists. Yeah. But not in the way that it did yeah like 80s 90s I think was the

it was wild yeah because it was all over the mainstream news and ricky uh ends up committing

one of the most uh publicized satanic panic crimes in history up in northport new york and just his whole story is absolutely insane

there's lots of acid uh if you can probably guess by the name there at the acid king lots of drugs

teenagers with nothing to do and uh yeah the general public that's absolutely terrified of satanic worship and satanic

followers that they believed were everywhere.

Yeah, because the rumor mill was going nuts.

And then not only that, but the media circus that kind of followed this, everyone was

freaking out because even the police were kind of

reporting these, it's like, this is a satanic cult killing. Yep. So it's like, what else are you

supposed to believe? This is in the newspapers and the police are saying this. Of course we're going to

get worried, right? And that's how everybody got their news. So people get the news and newspaper on on the TV and

if that's what the authorities are saying right why do they have any reason to to doubt that that's

actually what's going on right so it's uh yeah it's it's very interesting um how this all unfolds

but uh yeah i'm always interested in these satanic panic crimes because it's just

wild to kind of go back to this time period and just the things that people are saying and

the things that they were making up about Ricky Caso and this whole satanic cult that was allegedly operating in this community. So pretty
