Just after midnight on August 11, 2003, a laskin native Sonia Ivanov parted ways with her

best friend and began the short walk home to her apartment from her friends house.

This would be the last time that 19 year old Sonia was seen alive by her best friend.

A few days later, Sonia's nude body was found just a few miles outside of her hometown

in Noma, Alaska.

She'd been shot once in the back of the head.
