Hey, everybody. Thanks for joining me again today. Today I'm going to talk about one of my favorite topics, which is urology.

I am joined by Dr. Martha Boone, who is a urologist and author of the unfettered urologist.

So you did medical school at MUSC in Charleston, then you did residency in Tulane, and then you did a fellowship in reconstruction at UC Davis. Now you're an author, and you were one of the first 100 female urologists. Tell me about your journey. And thank you. So I was one of the first ones board certified. There might have been more than 100 who had actually been urologists, but I was in the first pack to get board certified. And, you know, when I joined urology,

I had no women mentors. Tulane was way ahead of their time, and they were accepting all kinds of folks.

They were just looking for people who were going to be really good doctors and take good care of the patients. And they really didn't pay too much attention to anything else. So it turned out to be a great place for me.

And they continued to do things that way. I remember going to one of my first urology conferences.

It was like 6,000 men and a few women from industry and then me. And then I spotted this one woman

urologist. Her name was Janelle Foote. She's an African-American lady who's here in me. And then I spotted this one woman urologist. Her name was Janelle Futt.

She's an African-American lady who's here in Atlanta. And I was like a creepy little stalk

following her around because I was like this groupie going, oh my God, there's another one.

It's a girl. And she and I became good friends over the years, but she was the first sighting
