So let's have a first-hand

account of the nightmares that airports are bringing to travellers at the moment, the frustrations,

the three-hour cues, the aircraft sitting on the tarmac for six hours and then being told

it's going nowhere. Was it a horrible experience? Well, you know, I sometimes wonder

whether I'm living in a different country. Because I got an email from Ryanair. I was flying

from Stansted to Perugia in Italy. And I was going away for a few days for the 40th wedding

anniversary party of some very dear old friends.

Oh, that's great.

And got this email from Ryanair and they said, oh, please turn up at Stansted to join

the check-in queue for your flight at least three hours in advance.

So I thought, okay, I better make that four because I'm always overcautious.

I was a girl guide.

Right.

Very good. So, very good.

So, you know, up at 3 in the morning, left the house at 5, drive to Stansted.

My parking experience was positive.

I pre-booked as one does for Stansted Airport.

Get inside the airport.

Yes, there were a lot of people.

But no, it wasn't hysterical.

There was no panic going on.
