Genesis chapter 6 verses 17 and 18

for behold I will bring a flood of waters upon the earth to destroy all flesh in which

is the breath of life under heaven.

Everything that is on the earth shall die, but I will establish my covenant with you, and you shall come into the arc, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons wives with you.

So this first verse,

verse 17 is a grim picture of a promised flood, God speaking to Noah about flooding the earth and

But then you get to verse 18, you say that word, but,

And so that the picture we've seen up to this point in Genesis is the wickedness and

sinfulness of man deserving the judgment of God. And certainly Noah the of God saying to Noah I am going to make a way for you and your family to be

Come into this arc and you will be protected, you will be provided for.

And here we have in this picture of a covenant,

his family, ultimately deserved. In this verse in Genesis chapter 6, we are seeing a picture of God's love for us in Christ.
