On today's episode we have got on another brilliant and intelligent guest. He is a professional

high stakes poker player. He is also an entrepreneur and speaker and this is Alex Turelli. Welcome

to the show man. Hey Zubi, thanks for having me here. This is awesome. I'm really excited

to do this. Awesome man. Alec, I've done a very brief intro there but for people who are

not familiar with you, please tell them a little bit about yourself. Yes, so I'm a professional

poker player and coach as well. Like you mentioned, entrepreneur side, I started a poker

training site and investor as well. So I think poker has taken me in a lot in that direction

and I feel like a lot of the framework that's used to make decisions in poker at the poker

table is also used in decision making and investing too. So we could talk about that.

But my background, I got started in poker. It's actually celebrating 20 year anniversary

this year, which is crazy even playing poker for 20 years. I started when I was 16, got

invited to a friend's house. Poker was booming in the US. I won my first time playing so

I was hooked. I'm not really much into, I wasn't really big into sports. I wasn't good at

basketball and it made the team. I dropped out of football my freshman year, but poker

really stuck and I felt like that was something that I could excel at just because it had this

element of like decision making and strategy, which I loved and learned from chess as a kid,

but also the psychology of like reading people and whatever and I could beat my friends.

I was like hooked on this game. So I got started 20 years ago and then when I was at school

at SMU, two years after that, I really had like a pivotal point in my poker journey and

this kind of the first decision I think you have to make is like which hand to play.
