Hi, it's Dave, and when I created the mortified stage show over 20 years ago,

podcasts did not even exist.

This is kind of hard to imagine on many levels,

in part because when my producing partner Neil and I eventually did

launch the podcast years later it honestly felt like such a natural fit like how have

we not been doing this before and one of the reasons it felt like that was Radiotopia, a non-profit podcast network that helps to sustain work from producers like us.

And right now, Radiotopia is conducting a fundraiser.

And if you've yet to contribute, that's fine.

You might however be wondering, where exactly do those donation dollars actually go?

Well, the short answer is your donation not only goes to shows like Mordified,

but other radiotopia shows like Song Exploder, Articles of Interest,

Normal Gossip, Ear Hustle, and lots of other really great shows who need support.

The longer answer is that it takes an investment of time, energy, and yes, money to create even a single episode.

Whatever your favorite show is, I guarantee its producers pour their lives into making it.

Now, as you know, if you're a fan of this podcast we've had a cut back on

episodes in 2003 in part because the financials of production have become

challenging to sustain. The good news is that we're coming back in 2024 with a limited run and we hope to keep making more.

After all, given how much anxiety people are feeling about the world right now,

I know we all deserve more laughter. So
