| 0:00.0 | Welcome to the happiness podcast. I'm Dr. Robert Puff. I'm not sure where I heard it, but there's a saying out there that goes, |
| 0:17.0 | Before I was enlightened, I used to be depressed. |
| 0:21.0 | Now that I'm enlightened, I'm still depressed, but it's not the same. |
| 0:27.6 | We all may not be aware of it, but there are people out there that are diagnosed with clinical depression or anxiety or borderline |
| 0:36.3 | personality disorder or narcissism, there's a lot of different things out there that people |
| 0:41.6 | struggle with. And though many of them are actively |
| 0:44.9 | doing things to improve their lives, it's still hard, very hard. Now some people out |
| 0:51.8 | there believe that this depression, this psychological struggle is something |
| 0:57.2 | they're born with. They have a genetic predisposition towards and there's really nothing |
| 1:02.2 | they can do about those genetics. |
| 1:04.0 | And other people don't agree with that statement. |
| 1:07.0 | But nonetheless, there are lots of people who struggle with depression, |
| 1:11.0 | with things like sadness, that there isn't much they can do about |
| 1:15.0 | or at least do much about very easily. |
| 1:18.0 | For those of us listening to the happiness podcast, |
| 1:21.0 | we may implement the changes that I suggest here and find that our lives |
| 1:26.4 | are greatly improved. |
| 1:28.8 | Others may find that it's still hard, the depression, the anxiety, the fears are still there, even when they are implementing |
| 1:37.1 | these changes. |
| 1:39.4 | And in today's podcast, I want to address people who do struggle with more clinically biologically |
| 1:46.7 | prone depression or sadness or anxiety. These are things that people struggle with, that they do a lot of things to improve upon. |
| 1:55.0 | Sometimes they take medication, sometimes they get into therapy, sometimes they are involved with support groups. |
