Welcome in everyone to this week's edition of the Deer Hunter podcast Friday, July 1st,

taking you into the 4th of July holiday weekend with nothing other than our annual black fifth annual i might add so we're at

the six year anniversary here of the show one year into that we did our first black velvet fest

which became an annual tradition.

And this is the fifth annual edition of Black Velvet Fest, which I'll go ahead and say this

which is basically the kickoff to the upcoming deer season.

Deer, you're starting to be able to see what they're going to look like here coming this fall

They're on beans glassing them up seeing them in the evenings

Getting trail cameras in food plots making plans so that that's kind of where

Velvet Fest evolved out of and then we went ahead and hijacked that from them and kind of blended it in with a bottle of

black velvet whiskey which had been somehow found its way into our deer camp many years ago

I'll be honest with you it's a very inexpensive bottle of whiskey but it just seems to work man

so we we've over the years had some really really good times and interesting

conversations around the campfire over a bottle of black velvet.
