Hey Marvel fans welcome to a very very special edition of the This Week in Marvel Podcast.

We are in the midst of Jack Kirby Week, celebrating the 99th birthday of the King of Comics,

Jack Kirby, and we've got a great guest a really unique and awesome guest for our

podcast day and that's Neil Kirby the son of Jack Kirby. Neil how are you doing out

there in the West Coast? I'm doing great thank you for asking here are you guys we're good and we're

good here in New York it's a little muggy out but you know we're we're

dealing with it that That's New York.

Yeah.

So Neil, as we're doing this kind of this celebration of your dad's birthday,

what does it mean to you to be celebrating your dad's 99th birthday?

Obviously he's passed on, but we're still commemorating him and talking about him a lot.

What's it mean to you to be part of this celebration?

Well, I think it's What's it mean to you to be part of this celebration?

Well, I think it's just wonderful that so many people are involved in celebrating my father's birthday and honoring his legacy.

And it's kind of interesting because obviously this has just been going on for a couple of years really and it just

started about it started four years ago in 2012 with our daughter my father you know

her grandfather my father you know passed away the year before she was born so she

never knew him so she was looking for you know a way if she got older that you know she could

learn about him and you know honor his legacy and so on and so she founded this campaign called Kirby for Heroes and I was in 2012 I think she was

still in high school at the time. So be a senior in college this year,

so it's been a while.
