As I mentioned in Kathleen's story last year,

violence against women and children in South Africa is at an all-time high,

and these numbers are rapidly climbing.

And that's only what is reported. As we know,

many are not out of shame, fear, and distrust of law enforcement. This week's story also

discusses themes of child trafficking. Another major issue in South Africa at current,

especially fair-skinned, delight-eyed children.

This is more than a true crime story. This is about a child who never had a chance.

And sadly, this isn't the only story like this. There have been other children sold to

witch doctors or stolen into sex trafficking. I found so many examples in my research.

One young girl from Mozambique was held and abused for months, but thankfully she did

escape. But these things are happening right now. They just don't make international news.
