25 years on we look back at the incredible 2000/01 campaign. We hear from some of the heroes who etched their name into Fulham history, and some of the fans who witnessed it. The 2000/01 season was, simply put, one of the greatest in Fulham’s history. Under the tutelage of French maestro Jean Tigana, the Whites swept everyone in Division One aside en route to the title, to 101 points, and most importantly, to the Premier League. Twenty-five years ago in April 2001, Fulham was on the precipice of a historic achievement, a return to the

The years leading up to the season have been ones of huge change at the cottage.

In 1997, Fulham were promoted from Division 3 under Mickey Adams,

and then in 1999, Fulham took Division 2 by Storm under the guidance of Kevin Keegan,

who was snapped up shortly afterwards by the FAA for the vacant England manager's job.

Fulham's ninth place finish in their debut season back in the second tier under manager Paul Bracewell would have been seen as a resounding success by many, considering they'd only just one promotion.

But this was nowhere near enough for the ambitious chairman Mohammed Al-Fayette, who in March of that season sacked Bracewell and quickly appointed former French European Championship winner Jean Tagana to take over.
