Back in the dark days of 2020, wrestling was only really trying to survive the closed-door days and get everybody talking.

It did that, but not always for the most glowing of reasons.

2020 was a trip, people, and here is the absolute worst of it.

moments of 2020. Buckle up. Number 25, Drew McIntyre's first reign ends with no fans.

Timing is everything, my friend. Drew McIntyre winning the WWE title in front of exactly

zero punters at WrestleMania 36 sucked for him,

but the Scots showed himself to be a true leader by refusing to moan about it.

Instead, McIntyre pointed out that a lot of people were suffering around the world due to the

pandemic, so he didn't have a lot to complain about.

He was still living his dream.

However, WWE refused to ride out his

first title reign until fans were back in. Drew lost the belt to Randy Orton at Hell in a Cell

2020. He would regain it on the 16th of November Raw, but then drop it to the Mizz

Elimination Chamber following a Money in the Bank cash in. Again, timing is everything. The fact McIntyre never

appeared once in front of fans with the belt during this big baby-face run is just rubbish.

Incredibly, Drew would have to wait until 2026 for that feeling, more than half a decade later.

His entrance on the 16th of January edition of Smackdown this year was personally

satisfying. It was the first time the big man had strolled to the ring holding that belt in front of a

sellout crowd, and it had to feel good. Good for Drew. Seeing him dance around the ring like an

excited teenager after winning the 2020 Royal Rumble contrasted mightily with the sound of a giant

fan accompanying his first title win at Mania 36 inside the quaint performance centre.
