Hey, I am glad you're here. After my last episode, I got a whole bunch of new listeners,

so I thought I would spend a minute saying hello and just introducing myself.

move on to something else. So like I said before, my name is Jennifer Gonzalez. I have been running

the Cult of Pedagogy website for about two, close to two, no, two plus years. And before I did that,

I was a middle school English language arts teacher for seven and a half years.

Depending on where you look, I either say seven or eight because I do the math kind of fuzzy sometimes.

There were some summer gigs and some other things, but basically it was seven solid years plus extra.

I taught in the outskirts of Washington, D.C. for half of that time and then in a town in Kentucky

for the other half of that time, taught sixth, seventh, and eighth grade at various times.

After I stopped, I left the classroom when I started having babies and then not long after that,

I got a job as a college instructor working with pre-service teachers. So I was working in a

college of education training teachers basically and I did that for four years and then I started my

website where I could help teachers everywhere, as long as I did a good job and got my website out

there. So that's what I do full time now. I just devote all of my working hours to finding resources

and sharing ideas and sharing research and reviewing books and finding good instructional strategies

to help teachers learn how to do their job better. That is basically my mission in life right now.
